Sam Holt Band Pays Respects to Widespread Panic’s Founders in Series of Concerts: Remembering Mikey and Todd

Athens, GA — January 8, 2024 — The Sam Holt Band is pleased to announce an upcoming series of concerts across the Southeast in tribute to the two founding members of Widespread Panic. This series stands as a heartfelt homage to the band’s late founding members, Michael Houser and Todd Nance. Michael Houser, the original guitarist, succumbed to pancreatic cancer in August 2002, and Todd Nance, the band’s original drummer, passed away in August 2020. Sam Holt, Houser’s former guitar tech and friend, an integral figure in the Athens, GA music scene since 2014, shared numerous collaborations with Todd Nance in projects like The Interstellar Boys, and has played a pivotal role in organizing these shows in honor of Houser and Nance. 

Featuring Adam Grace of Truth & Salvage Co. on keyboards, Ross Parker on bass, and Jeremy Ward on drums, the Sam Holt Band promises an enriching musical journey. The performances will include favorites from the duo’s time in Widespread Panic, encompassing cherished classics by Houser and Nance. Additionally, the band will pay homage to Michael Houser’s posthumous album ‘Sandbox’ and incorporate selections from Todd Nance’s tenure in Barbara Cue, among other notable contributions. To complete the experience, original compositions by Sam Holt will be seamlessly woven into the performance.
